India Men MD 159 beat England Men MD 147-4 by 6 runs
India Men's Mixed Disability tied up the Vitality IT20 series at 1-1 after two games, successfully defending 159 to squeeze home at Derby by six runs.
In an up and down game, the pendulum swung towards hosts and visitors at different points but ultimately England couldn't chase down India's total.
With the ball, the hosts had some bright moments - Jimmy Dixon taking 4-22 and Jake Vosloo 3-9.
India made a better effort batting first than in Wednesday's first game, and at 97-2 at the half-way stage may have fancied themselves to have set a total well beyond England, but two wickets in two balls for young Jake Vosloo swung the game back in the hosts' favour.
The 17-year-old Sussex spinner became England Men's Mixed Disability youngest player when he made his debut in the winter after his breakthrough today India crumbled from 97-2 to 115-8.
Despite Vosloo's breakthrough, and Dixon's four wickets, India would go on to fight their way to 159 thanks to 27 from Sudarsun Elangovan. Sai Akash had been the mainstay of his team's innings with 65 at the top of the order.
England never lost many wickets and were always in the hunt, but despite some late blows from Liam O'Brien and Angus Brown they couldn't get over the line.
Captain Callum Flynn said: "It wasn't to be today. We were really good in parts and perhaps not quite at our best at other points in the game, and in the end it was quite topsy turvy.
"I'm delighted for Jake, and for Jimmy, at times our bowling was perfect but India did well to post a decent score and we didn't quite have enough. We'll learn from today and hopefully we can use it as fuel at Leicester."
