England Men's Mixed Disability win thriller to level series

The England Men's Mixed Disability team tied their series with India at 2-2 with three games to go.

England Men's MD 124-8 beat India Men’s MD 117 by 2 runs

The England Men's Mixed Disability team won a last-ball thriller at Hove to level the seven-match Vitality IT20 series at 2-2 with three games to come.

All-rounder Liam O'Brien held his nerve at the end to see his side home with the ball, after Chris Edwards had taken 3-22 in a group bowling effort that restricted India to 122-9.

Batting first, England had continued the trend of the series up to this point - with runs generally hard to come by, they fought their way to 124-8, with Callum Flynn (48) and Angus Brown (35) - matchwinner in the series opener - the star men.

In reply, India - who have done so well to restrict England while chasing in this series - took it right to the death despite losing regular wickets but couldn't get over the line and England won by two runs.

The two teams meet twice at Arundel across the weekend before the series concludes at Lord's next Wednesday.

Captain Callum Flynn said: "We feel a lot better with the score reading 2-2! It's been a tough series, and today was difficult as well. A lot of dry wickets around the country at the minute and it's not easy to score big.

"We did what we had to do today and we bowled well as a unit to come out on top. It was a nail-biting finish and we did so well to get the win.

"The series is really nicely poised at 2-2 with three to come and while I'd love to win it before Lord's there's something to be said for a series decider there!"
