Paine confirmed as Australia captain against England

Test skipper to take temporary charge of ODI squad while Finch captains IT20 team

Tim Paine has been confirmed as Australia’s ODI captain for the five-match series against England this summer.

Aaron Finch will act as vice-captain for Australia in the Royal London one-day series and will captain the tourists in a one-off Vitality IT20.

Mitchell Starc (leg) and Pat Cummins (back) both miss out due to injury, while spinners Nathan Lyon and Ashton Agar have both been named in the ODI squad.

England beat Australia 4-1 in the ODI series between the sides, and Eoin Morgan’s side were named last week as the ICC’s top ranked side in international one-day in world cricket.
