Somerset seal last Finals Day spot

Superb Somerset see off defending champs Notts Outlaws to take their place at Vitality Blast Finals Day

SCORECARD
Somerset 209/5 beat Notts Outlaws 190 all out by 19 runs

RIDICU-LEWIS!
Captain Lewis Gregory came in with Somerset 128/5 halfway through the 15th over, having just lost gun Corey Anderson. No matter: the 26-year-old skipper played a magnificent hand to send Taunton wild, destroying the Notts attack and taking only 24 balls to score a breathless unbeaten 60, including two fours and five sixes. Oh, and he then took a stunning catch to get rid of Alex Hales and got the key wicket of Dan Christian, as well as Ish Sodhi. Talk about leading from the front.

OVER AND OUT
Jamie Overton has been bowling rockets recently, and although he leaked 47 off his four overs at Taunton on Monday, he took FIVE wickets to rip through Notts and secure Somerset's Finals Day berth. Seeing off Riki Wessels, Alex Hales, Steven Mullaney, Samit Patel and Luke Fletcher counts as a pretty good afternoon in anyone's book.

A FOND FAREWELL
After five great years at Taunton, South African Johann Myburgh is retiring from professional cricket at the end of the season, meaning this was his last ever game at the Coop Associates County Ground. Hitting a quickfire 27 off 22 and helping his team to Finals Day seems like a fitting way to bow out.

HALES STORM
Alex Hales looked like Notts' best chance of chasing the runs down when he moved seamlessly on to 45 from 28 balls, but captain Gregory took a fine catch off the bowling of Overton and the visitors' electric start was suddenly all over. Tom Moores threatened briefly for the Outlaws, but Hales was the crucial blow and they never recovered.
