England name ODI squad for Sri Lanka tour

England selectors confirm a 16-strong squad for the five-match ODI series in Sri Lanka next month.

England National Cricket Selectors have named a 16-strong squad for the five-match ODI series against Sri Lanka starting on 10 October in Dambulla.

Liam Plunkett will miss the first three ODIs for his wedding. He will be available for the fourth and fifth ODIs.

Warwickshire seamer Olly Stone has been called up to the squad for the first time as Plunkett’s replacement.

Yorkshire all-rounder David Willey was not considered for selection due to a back injury.
