Hampshire v Yorkshire
Yorkshire have added fit-again Tim Bresnan to their 13-man squad after his recovery from a back injury. Their batsmen, including Joe Root, will be tested by Hampshire’s new ball pair Fidel Edwards and Kyle Abbot, who took 15 wickets in the innings victory over Essex. Hampshire are likely to be unchanged.
Nottinghamshire v Somerset
All-rounder Zac Chappell, their winter recruit from Leicestershire, and left-armer Luke Wood come into Nottinghamshire’s squad while Paul Coughlin drops out through injury. Somerset, who beat Kent in their opening game, have added England spinner Jack Leach to their squad.
Surrey v Essex
The champions are without injured trio Amar Virdi, Jordan Clark and Jason Roy while Sam Curran is at the IPL. Liam Plunkett, who joined from Yorkshire in the winter, could make his debut while 41-year-old Gareth Batty is in a 13-man squad along with slow left-armer Freddie van den Bergh. With Adam Wheater out with a broken thumb, Essex have signed Middlesex wicketkeeper Robbie White on loan and he could make his debut.
Warwickshire v Kent
The two promoted teams meet at Edgbaston where Ian Bell, Chris Woakes, Liam Norwell and Olly Stone miss out for the Bears through injury. Craig Miles could make his debut after joining from Gloucestershire in the winter. Kent, beaten by Somerset in their opener, have named an unchanged 13-man squad.
Durham v Sussex
Cameron Bancroft leads Durham for the first time while Ned Eckersley is also in line for his debut behind the stumps in place of Stuart Poynter. Cameron Steel, Academy bowler Oliver Gibson and Graham Clark are also included in their squad. Harry Finch missed out for Sussex because of a hand injury and will be replaced by Michael Burgess.
Glamorgan v Northamptonshire
Chris Cooke leads Glamorgan for the first time and Billy Root, Charlie Hemphrey and Australian overseas player Marnus Labuschagne are all expected to make their debuts. Seam bowler Marchant de Lange is included in their squad for the first time since last May. Northants are expected to name the same XI that drew with Middlesex.
Gloucestershire v Derbyshire
Gloucestershire have signed Yorkshire seamer Josh Shaw for a third time on loan but Stuart Whittingham, David Payne and Ian Cockbain are all injured. Derbyshire, who won their opener against Durham, are expected to be unchanged.
Leicestershire v Worcestershire
Mohammad Abbas is still not available for the hosts who are likely to name the team which beat Sussex in their opener. New Zealand batsman Hamish Rutherford will make his Worcestershire debut but spinner Ben Twohig is out for the season after undergoing knee surgery.
Middlesex v Lancashire
Middlesex have named the same squad that drew against Northants in their opener. James Anderson is included in Lancashire’s 13-man squad along with Australian Glenn Maxwell and Mark Footitt, the left-arm quick bowler on loan from Nottinghamshire.
