MORGAN A FEELING
The man for the moment. Eoin Morgan unleashed rasping shot after rasping shot once he got in, pummelling an astonishing 83 runs off a mere 29 balls, to see Middlesex complete a T20 Blast record-breaking chase of 227. He knew how to finish it in style too, whacking a six to finish proceedings with three - yes, THREE - overs to go.
MALAN OF THE PEOPLE
For Morgan to be in a position to launch such a daring push for victory had a lot to do with the equalling enjoyable 14-ball 41 from the bat of Dawid Malan. Partnering Paul Stirling at the top of the order, they got Middlesex's reply off to an astonishing start, reaching 67 inside 4 overs, before they both fell in consecutive balls. In came AB de Villiers...
WALLER WALLER BING BANG
It was always going to take something special to stop the mighty AB de Villiers. And Max Waller produced possibly the catch of the tournament. The former South Africa captain had shifted effortlessly to 32 from 16 deliveries when he was brilliantly caught in the deep one-handed by Waller.
TOM TOM
Somerset pair Abell and Banton sent the ball to all parts in the first innings, the youthful duo making 101* and 62 respectively. Barton carried on his fine form with a punishing opening to proceedings, before captain Abell struck his first, and Somerset's fastest, T20 century. Despite their fine efforts, it wasn't to be enough.

AROUND THE GROUNDS
With the four North Group quarter-final spots already sorted, the focus fell on the South Group where Essex sprung the surprise alongside Middlesex to leap above their opponents and into a top four place. Playing their Bridge rivals Kent, Essex had Cameron Deport to thank for a fast start (64 off 29) that meant Sam Billings' side had a challenging total to aim for, eventually falling 10 runs short.
