CHAMPIONES
For the second time in three years, Essex are the kings of county cricket. It was the outcome all expected before the match, when weather forecasts predicted constant showers for four days. But they were made to work hard of it by Somerset, who threatened to send the thrilling summer of 2019 out in dramatic style by forfeiting their innings and putting Essex back in to bat. In the end, the man most would turn to in such a situation, Alastair Cook saw them to safety and another season as Champions.
DOUBLE DELIGHT
Winning one trophy in a season is brilliant. Winning two is unfathomable. Yet Essex have made county cricket history by becoming the first club to pick up both the County Championship and the Vitality Blast titles. All in the space of six days, too. Remarkable!

SOMER SET ON TITLE HOPES
Dreams of a maiden County Championship title may be over for another, but Somerset and their fans should be mighty proud of what they've achieved this season. Alongside another gripping bout for the number one spot, they finished One-Day Cup winners, as well as spending another season bringing through an array of talented young players. Theirs is a county many look at with envy.

THANK YOU TRESCO
Twenty-seven seasons after strolling out to bat for the first time at Taunton as a professional, Marcus Trescothick is hanging up his boots for the final time. An icon of English cricket, he will be warmly remembered for all his efforts on the pitch and the positive work away from the middle highlighting and helping others who have suffered from mental illness. Thank you Tres, it's been our privilege.
PROMOTION PARTY
If you're going to secure promotion on the final day of the season, it might as well be alongside another team going up too. That's what happened for Gloucestershire and Northamptonshire, who both secured their place in Division One next season following the news that promotion rivals Durham had their match abandoned due to rain. The two teams proceeded to celebrate together in style. At 11am in the morning. Hope you're recovering well, lads.
This is incredible!@Gloscricket & @NorthantsCCC squads are both celebrating promotion to Division 1!
