England captain Heather Knight and fast bowler Anya Shrubsole have been named in the first-ever ICC Women's Team of the Year.
Knight took over as captain from Charlotte Edwards in June and since then has led England to four series wins including automatic qualification for the ICC Women's World Cup on home soil next summer.
The new captain has led from the front at the start of an exciting new era for the England women’s team, averaging 52 with the bat and claiming 17 wickets including a career-best 5-26 since taking on the leadership.
Her team has followed this positive approach with record-breaking results. At Worcester England hit a mammoth 378 for five against Pakistan – a 50-over best - and shortly after a scorching 187 for five – their highest in a T20 - against the same opposition.
The ever-consistent Shrubsole, who was named England Player of the Year in May, was a force in both formats, finishing alongside Katherine Brunt as England's joint leading wicket-taker for 2016, with 25.
That total would have been significantly higher had injury not ruled the Somerset quick out of five ODIs in the West Indies and four in Sri Lanka.
One player who was unlucky to miss out is Tammy Beaumont who struck 917 runs in all formats including successive ODI hundreds - the first England Women's player to do so.
The ICC team is captained by Stafanie Taylor, who led the West Indies to World T20 glory, and includes Suzie Bates who has been named as the first player to win both the ICC Women’s ODI and T20I Player of the Year awards.
