Dramatic win for Lancs at Aigburth

Lancashire won a dramatic match at Aigburth against title race rivals Hampshire by one wicket. The low scoring game was dominated by the bowlers throughout. The first innings saw Hampshire bowled all out for 143 with George Balderson and Matthew Parkinson taking 3-21 and 3-9 respectively. Mohammad Abbas and Keith Barker then starred for Hants, taking the nine wickets between them. Lancashire have Steven Croft, Luke Wood and Tom Bailey to thank for getting up to 141 all out, as Lancashire had collapsed to 47-7. The third innings was dominated by a Hampshire partnership between James Vince and Liam Dawson. The South Coast stalwarts helped Hampshire to a lead of 195 runs. The Lancashire reply got off to a rapid start, with Alex Davies hitting 44 (43). Anytime Lancashire looked like they were running away with the game, Mason Crane would disrupt progress. The Hants spinner took 5-41 and ran out Tom Bailey. However, Dane Vilas was a rock throughout the innings and helped guide his side to victory with just one wicket remaining.

Warwickshire win the LV=County Championship
