McDermott hands Hawks crunching victory as Lightning remain unbeaten

There were also handsome wins for Gloucestershire, Northamptonshire Steelbacks and Essex Eagles

SOUTH GROUP
Middlesex 142/7 lost to Hampshire Hawks 145/1 by 9 wickets
Glamorgan 158/8 lost to Gloucestershire 159/5 by five wickets
Essex Eagles 135/3 beat Kent Spitfires 130/9 by seven wickets

NORTH GROUP
Leicestershire Foxes 135 lost to Lancashire Lightning 139/3 by seven wickets
Northamptonshire Steelbacks 155/5 beat Derbyshire Falcons 151/9 by five wickets

LIGHTNING STRIKE AND REMAIN UNBEATEN
Lewis Hill's 50 at the top of the Leicestershire Foxes order looked like it might set them up for a good total, but just two other batters reached double figures in what proved a much-below par score. Steven Croft's partnership with Phil Salt was worth 81 for the second wicket, and from there it was a procession. The tie against Yorkshire Vikings remains Lancashire Lightning's only dropped point.

BRACEY OUTSHINES LLOYD
David Lloyd's best T20 score in six years wasn't enough for Glamorgan to overcome Gloucestershire. His 68 was powerful and stylish and when he got out in the 13th over at 105/2, Glamorgan looked set for a good score. They managed just 158 and James Bracey's 63 was an excellent response. He was assisted for a long while by Glenn Phillips, and while both were out before the end, they did enough for the victory.

COBB TO THE FORE
When Northamptonshire Steelbacks lost Chris Lynn first ball, fans would've been forgiven for worrying about their chase. As it was, there was nothing to fret over: Josh Cobb made sure of that. The Steelbacks skipper belted a brilliant 70 from just 43 balls, knocking the majority of the runs off by the end of the 12th over, setting his side up for an easy victory.

MCDERMOTT GETS THE HAWKS FLYING
It looked like the match was played on a different pitch, so contrasting was Hampshire's innings to that of hosts Middlesex as Australian Ben McDermott struck 83 off a mere 30 balls to lead the visitors to a nine-wicket win. Sit back and enjoy some of his monstrous hits!

SAFE HANDS HARMER
Simon Harmer has bucket hands. It's the only explanation as to why he holds onto everything that is smashed his way, including this well-struck low return by Sam Billings. It was the Essex Eagles captain's only wicket on the night but his bowling group were fantastic, and yet another half-century for Michael Pepper led a successful run chase.
