Somerset qualify for Finals Day after record breaking victory

The final quarter-final saw Somerset seal Finals Day qualification in emphatic fashion!

Somerset 265/5 beat Derbyshire Falcons 74 all out by 191 runs

Somerset will not be forgetting that victory anytime soon. They dominated in every area and take the final spot for the 2022 Finals Day.

The night started off with Tom Banton firing sixes into the crowd, who were basking in the sunshine and were ready to be treated to a spectacle, and that is what they got!

The fun for the Somerset fans didn't stop there, as Rilee Rossouw came to the crease and scored 93 runs from just 36 balls, including 34 from just one over.

Somerset had already soared to over 200, and now had the highest Blast total in history in their sights. Thanks to a late cameo from Tom Lammonby and Ben Green, they scored a huge 265/5, to break the record!

Somerset went into the second innings with confidence, and Derbyshire Falcons never found a way to combat the fierce bowling from Somerset, as they were bowled out for just 74, to give Somerset the highest ever winning margin in a Blast game.

The conclusion of the match saw Somerset qualify for the illustrious Finals Day and confirm the line up for a cracking day at Edgbaston!
