Shiv shines at The Oval as wickets tumble at Taunton

An exciting Saturday in the County Championship had something for all fans as stars both young and old made headlines and we even saw what is believed to be the first 'double dab' in cricket history!

WICKETS GALORE

Day Two at Taunton belonged to the bowlers as 18 wickets fell to leave Essex chasing 255 runs to win. Kiwi paceman Neil Wagner provided the spark for the visitors as he took 6-48. Essex will be hoping England superstar Alastair Cook can guide them home in what should be a cracking run chase on Sunday.

CHANDERPAUL MASTERCLASS

Vintage Chanderpaul. Even at the ripe old age of 42, and batting on one leg for the latter part of his innings, the Guyanese great showed that he still has what it takes to churn out runs at this level. Well batted, Shiv!

WHATEVER NEXT?

It's fair to say the 'dab' is alive and well in the County Championship this season. In the space of 24 hours we've seen a century celebrated with a dab and now a 5-for crowned with a double dab. Whatever next? And don't say a triple dab...

FLETCHER'S FALL

Luke Fletcher had equalled his best score in First-Class cricket (92) when a calamitous mix up with overseas James Pattinson led to him slipping half way down the track with no chance of making it back and was duly run out. Other than this minor blip it was another great day for Nottinghamshire as they took control of their Division Two clash with Durham.

COAD ON FIRE

Two matches, two five-fors. What a start to the season for the young Yorkshire quick! He dismantled the Warwickshire batting lineup (178ao) to claim a superb 5-52.
