Jamie Porter of Essex has been called into the England Lions squad for the closing stages of the Royal London One-Day Series against South Africa A, which concludes in Northampton on Monday.
Porter replaces Steven Finn following his call into the England squad for the ICC Champions Trophy.
The 24-year-old was selected for England cricket's Pace Programme in Potchefstroom last winter after a second consecutive strong season for Essex in Division Two of the Specsavers County Championship, and has played a key role in their successful return to Division One this season taking 24 wickets in five matches at an average of 22.
Porter joins 19-year-old Essex team-mate Dan lawrence in the Lions squaad, and both are in contention to make their debuts in Monday's day-night match against South Africa A.
The Lions secured the Royal London One-Day Series with a second comfortable win at Northampton on Saturday.
The England selectors will meet next week to choose another Lions squad for a four-day game against South Africa A at the Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence later this month, and the Lions also have a three-day match against the senior South Africa tourists in Worcester fromĀ June 29.
