England Men's Physically Disabled team second in table after opening two games

Callum Flynn's England Men's Physically Disabled team sit second in the table after their opening two fixtures in the Physically Disabled Champions Trophy.

England Men’s Physically Disabled team won one and lost one of their two opening games in the Physically Disabled Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka.

On Sunday a rain-reduced six-over affair against the hosts went England’s way by seven wickets, but India proved too strong in today’s game – winning by 29 runs despite Will Flynn’s 41-ball 87.

India’s Rajesh Kannur was the star of the day, blasting eight sixes and nine fours a 65-ball 119.

The two results leave England in second place, behind India who boast a 100% record from their opening two fixtures, having also overcome Pakistan.

Captain Callum Flynn said: “We were happy to get off to a winning start against Sri Lanka, especially with the weather around making it more difficult.

“India just had too much today but it was an encouraging performance and there's lots to build on. Will played really well, and hopefully we can take something from that into our next game."

Flynn’s side are back in action on Wednesday, with two games in two days against Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
