England Women U19 67-4 beat Pakistan Women U19 66 by six wickets
England Women's U19 raced to victory over Pakistan in the ICC Women's U19 World Cup, getting the job done inside 10 overs of their reply.
Bowling first, the wickets were shared around, with Warwickshire's Amu Surenkumar picking up three. There were two scalps apiece for Tilly Corteen-Coleman, Olivia Brinsden and Eve O'Neill.
In reply, England were full of intent and though they lost four wickets it was always a case of how quickly they could get over the line. Somerset's Katie Jones finished unbeaten on 20 and earned herself Player of the Match in the process. They face up against USA on Wednesday.
Captain Abi Norgrove said: "It's great to get our first win of the competition. The bowlers did their job really nicely. It was great to see Amu Surenkumar pick up three wickets, and we're really pleased with how aggressive we were in the chase to get to our total inside 10 overs. Katie Jones did brilliantly to take us to the win and we'll move on to the USA looking to take this form with us."
