England Men's Physically Disabled team lost in the final of the PD Champions Trophy, India winning by 79 runs to get their hands on the trophy.
Batting first, India showed their immense strength, compiling a mammoth 197-4. Opener Yogendra Bhadoria scored 73 from just 40 balls, with five maximums.
Only Jordan Williams and Alex Hammond with the ball were able to retain control, with India scoring freely throughout their innings.
England needed everything to go their way to chase down such an imposing total but the writing was on the wall when opener Anthony Clapham departed first ball, and by the halfway stage it was all over bar the shouting with Callum Flynn's side reduced to 66-6.
Alex Hammond made 35 to ensure the deficit wasn't more painful, but ultimately it was India's day.
After the game, England wicketkeeper Liam Thomas announced his retirement from international cricket. Thomas, who went viral in 2016 having been filmed fielding the ball despite his prosthetic leg coming off as he dived, has been a stalwart of the England Men's PD team for over 10 years.
Callum Flynn said: "It wasn't to be today. India proved too strong and showed their class, but we gave it everything we have and I'm really proud of how we've performed over here in Sri Lanka.
"This is fantastic group of players and the standard across the competition has been high.
"I'd just like to pay tribute to Liam Thomas, who has shared with us all that he's retiring from international cricket. Liam has been a fantastic servant to English cricket, and to disability cricket in general, and we'll miss him. He's given everything for nearly 15 years and he can be so proud of his time in an England shirt."
