Tier 2 sides Kent and Leicestershire Foxes will be looking to overcome Tier 1 opposition in the quarter-finals of the Vitality T20 Women's County Cup this weekend, with one eye on reaching Monday's Finals Day in Taunton.
Round three featured some thrilling ties, including Durham's super-over win over Somerset in Exmouth. With scores tied after 20-overs each, Mady Villiers restricted Somerset to just nine runs in their super-over, which Durham 'keeper Bess Heath knocked off in just three balls to complete a successful 700-mile round trip.
Surrey's Alice Capsey continued her excellent form, backing up her century in the Metro Bank One Day Cup with a fine 89* from 45 balls against Hampshire Hawks. Maia Bouchier hit 59 from 23 balls in the reply, but Hampshire fell 57 runs short of their target.
The Blaze eased past Oxfordshire by 10 wickets, while Kent, Lancashire and Leicestershire completed comfortable wins over Cambridgeshire, Glamorgan and Northamptonshire Steelbacks respectively.
Sterre Kalis hit 15 boundaries on her way to 83 as Yorkshire beat Essex by 11 runs at Headingley, and Bears Women completed the quarter-final lineup with victory over Devon on Sunday.
