Top tips: All Stars Cricket throwing

Easy tips to take All Stars Cricket from your centre to home.

Thousands of families have been part of our All Stars Cricket programme this summer, with plenty of activity and smiling faces!

As you and your little stars head into the summer holidays, make sure you keep the fun going with some of our additional games.

Whether it's batting, bowling or catching, our top tips series has got your play options covered.

Now we're adding throwing to the list with this top group game – a perfect opportunity to invite some All Stars Cricket friends round to yours or out to the park for an afternoon.

Throwing – feed the aliens

To get started pair off and also choose someone to be the defender (alien!). In your pair you will aim to throw the ball across to your partner, avoiding the defender. If your defender manages to stop or intercept the ball, they score a point. When throwing, you notch up points if the ball makes it to your partner.

Your All Stars Cricket ball is the perfect accompaniment for your throwing game but you can also use any size ball you have to hand. If your All Star is slightly younger or finds it easier to use a larger ball, then opt for that.

Feed the aliens is a fantastic game for developing not only your throwing but also how you work as part of a team and how you make the most of available space - with plenty of running and fielding practice into the bargain for the defender!

You can also increase or decrease the size of your playing area to make it more or less of a challenge.

Swap roles after every few attempts to ensure everyone gets a go throwing and stopping.

The fun and games don't stop there - check out our additional garden games in the below video to maximise your summer activities!
