As Managing Director of the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation, I lead the charity in delivering its mission alongside a dedicated staff team, volunteers, and trustees. I sit on the executive leadership team at Warwickshire Cricket and serve as the sponsor for our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion work, helping to shape a game where everyone feels they belong.
I’m a Bristolian originally and distinctly remember asking my Dad why we supported Gloucestershire! My Dad died when I was young but cricket was always in the background growing up in a sports loving family. When I rang my Mum to say I’d been offered the Warwickshire role, first thing she said was how proud my Dad would have been, even if it was the wrong kit! I have joined my local cricket club, winning the Birmingham Indoor Softball League twice and this season, I start my hardball career.
I feel incredibly proud to be part of an ambitious county that isn’t afraid to try new things, build new partnerships, and welcome fresh perspectives. Over the past few years at Warwickshire, that mindset has really paid off. The Foundation has doubled its income, we’ve been recognised by the ECB as best in class across three major areas, and we now have a strategy, focused around a sustainable partnership approach, that is genuinely delivering. Those achievements matter, but they’re not what drives me.
What really makes my heart skip a beat is hearing, often through the grapevine, that someone in the community who we’ve never engaged with before now sees the Warwickshire Cricket Foundation as a trusted partner. That’s the moment I know our approach, and the culture behind it, is creating the kind of impact we’re aiming for. Trust isn’t something you can manufacture; it’s earned slowly, through consistency, respect, and showing up for people. When that trust appears, that’s when I know we’re doing the right things.
Cricket is changing fast. And for the better. Don’t let anyone tell you it’s not your game, because there’s space for you, a role for you, and a growing collective that’s stronger the moment you step into it.
