Cricket has become a new part of my life in the past two years as it was not a sport I would have seen myself being part of previously.
My work centres on safeguarding, pastoral, and administrative responsibilities from being present on match days, ensuring everything runs smoothly to mentoring our young people and supporting parents and carers. I was drawn to the programme as I truly believe in the sense of belonging it has created within the game and the community it serves.
I am driven by the opportunity to help break down barriers within the sport, ensuring that cricket feels welcoming and inclusive for everyone. Seeing participation grow among groups who may not have traditionally felt represented in the game, is rewarding and continues to motivate me.
Cricket has given me a new sense of purpose, and being able to contribute to its growth and evolution is something I value deeply. It’s not just about the sport itself, but about the community, the life skills it nurtures, and the connections it creates.
To all women and girls considering getting involved in cricket, there is a place for you in the game, and your presence will help shape its future and make a difference.
