But which was better? 🤔
ESSEX EAGLES V SURREY
Tom Curran was the star of the show for Surrey on Friday night as Blast 17 got off to an explosive start. The recently capped England bowler showed his class using his variations to get Surrey over the line in a last ball thriller at Chelmsford. Aaron Finch (56) and Dom Sibley (61) starred with the bat for Surrey as they set Essex 189 to win. Ravi Bopara smashed 75 off just 46 balls for the Eagles before he fell to Curran. Curran then held his nerve bowling the last over as Surrey won by 2 runs. An incredible start to Blast 17.
BIRMINGHAM BEARS V NOTTS OUTLAWS
Birmingham Bears are two from two in the Blast after winning a dramatic game vs the Outlaws at Edgbaston on Saturday. Jeetan Patel starred with the ball for the Bears taking 4/22 from his four overs including 11 dot balls. Samit Patel top scored for Notts hitting 55 as they set Birmingham 159 to win. The Bears looked like they were crusing home but some fine bowling and dodgy running set up a tense finish. With one run needed off the final ball, Rikki Clarke hit it straight to cover and should have been run out by some distance but Michael Lumb fumbled the ball when trying to take the bails off. Incredible scenes!
