England Men’s MD 148-5 beat India Men’s MD 94 by 54 runs
The first of two games in two days at picturesque Arundel went the way of the hosts, England, to see Callum Flynn's Mixed Disability side go 3-2 up with two games left in the series.
Flynn made 28 for his team as they posted 148-5 batting first, an innings in which most batters made a contribution - George Greenway, in his fourth appearance at this level, top-scoring with a run-a-ball 36.
The series has been dominated by low-scoring affairs, but England would have been happier to have got up to 148, and they'd have been even happier after their start with the ball - visitors India reduced to 18-3 before the end of the third over.
With the heart ripped out of their innings, India never threatened to win the game - eventually being bowled out for 94, 54 short of England. Alfie Pyle and Chris Edwards continued their good form with two wickets apiece and Farooq Mohammed finished things off to grab three.
It means after five games it's 3-2 to England, with another game at Arundel tomorrow before the sides head to Lord's on Wednesday.
Captain Callum Flynn said: "We're so happy to get our noses in front. Lose today and we would have had to win the last two games to win the series and would have been a challenge.
"It's been a really close series, but today was a good team performance. It was a bit like the first game of the series - we've batted first, put a score on the board and then defended it properly.
"We're delighted with the win - it's not a game you'd say was won by any one player, everyone contributed today."
