Somerset 307/7 v Nottinghamshire
Warwickshire 24/2 v Glamorgan 220

Northamptonshire 204 v Leicestershire 60/3
Gloucestershire v Kent 292/4

SOMERSET'S SIZZLING AUSSIE

Matt Renshaw opened the batting for Somerset against Nottinghamshire and performed superbly. The Australian struck his third century of the County Championship season at Taunton, to provide confidence to his side.

GIVE HIM AN OLIVIER AWARD

Derbyshire simply demolished Durham on Day One at Chester-le-Street, in large part down to the work of Duanne Olivier who took a five-wicket haul, as he helped bowl the opposition out for 96.

ROARING ON

Rory Burns has seen his name mentioned for international recognition, and he won't have done his chances any harm with this impressive knock to steer the control in Surrey's favour at Hampshire.

ZAK ALRIGHT ON THE NIGHT

It was a first-class career best of 6/44 for Zak Chappell as he ruined Northamptonshire's day to help Leicestershire dominate on the opening day.

WHAT'S YOUR POYSDEN?

Warwickshire's dangerous leg-spinner Josh Poysden had a memorable day, recording a career best 5/29 to spin Glamorgan into a spot of trouble. Interestingly, the wicket he claimed to dismiss Andrew Salter was Warwickshire's 25,000 catch in competitive cricket, with Jeetan Patel claiming it.
